Auto on/off headlight swap

I had an Acura before I bought my T4R TE I got so used to the auto on/off function of the headlights. Now, I miss that feature on my TE. Is there any way to integrate that feature, which is standard on the Limited, to the TE edition? I'm probably asking for too much here, but wondered if anyone else thought about it.

I too would like to know if this mod is possible. However I have an older '07 4th gen. that I'd like to have auto lights if doable.

I have a sr5 and was surprised it did not have auto headlights. my previous vehicle was a 1998 GMC Jimmy and it had auto headlights. I thought 12 yrs. later toyota would have them!!!

For starters you'll need some type of photoelectric sensor (OEM?) on top of the dash if the lights are to operate automatically when it gets dark/light outside.

I agree, I figured the TE would have this along with the side blinkers on the mirrors. Weird how toyota thinks, sometimes....

IDK about the side blinkers on the mirrors, thinking the black plastic is a little more trail friendly than color keyed mirrors if you are using the TE for it's intended purpose, but that's just my 2cents....

I have an SR5 and leave the DRLs on all of the time - It turns the DRLs on and off when you put it in gear. If you leave your headlights on they will turn off after a few minutes - Also, if you hit LOCK button on your remote twice, that will turn them off as well. Just leave them on all of the time - that is the lazy man's "auto headlights" - and it works.

Also a lot cheaper than swapping out a Limited's computer and adding a photocell.
