When Toyota dropped the V8 in the 4Runner line up, wanting to push buyers to the next higher cost level of their SUV line up. They lost a lot of of their past buyers. And I don't own or do I want the V8 4Runner, I own a V6.:bravo:

Why not? If the V8 is almost as efficient as the V6, then why not for more power and towing capacity?
I think there was a market that had an apetite for the V8 that Toyota was missing out on. Now, with the 2010 V6 - beefing the HP to push upper 200's, almost 300ish, they may have appeased that market with the V6 (hence no need for a V8). Personnaly, I think it's a psychological thing that when people hear a vehicle has 300 HP or more they instantly like it - even though torque is a major factor in what really matters.

Isn't that peculiar. You see the 2011 must consider list, click on the 4-runner and then scroll down only to find the Consumer list of 6 vehicles which they consider worse then their predecessors withe T4R being one of them. But we already know what Consumer Report's apples to oranges comparison was all about. The longer I live with my TE the more I like some of the visual characteristics that others either criticize or find ugly.
