Automatic lights?

is there a way to change when the lights shut off?
they automatically go off after i open the door when the truck is off. is there any other way to have them shut off? like maybe on a delay?

You Could get a DEI 545t, It adds a light sensor and will turn them on automatically when it senses darkness, or if your windshield wipers on on.
 
Are you talking about your day time running lights? But if you want to disable the drl's theres a little cage between the battery and the inner fender wall that has a plug coming out of it, just unplug that. If that helps...
 
Good call on the DRL's, didn't think about that one. you could also add a switch between that plug and the DRL control module, allowing you to turn your Daytime Running Lights on or off when you desire.
 
I think he means that after he turns the 4runner off and opens the door the lights turn off automatically. He wants them to stay on for another 10-30 seconds after the door is opened.

Our Suburban has this feature.
 
In that case all you would need is a time delayed relay, hook it up in between the headlight switch, run 87a to the key-sense lead or the door pin and your lights will shut off 1-30 Seconds after you remove the key from the ignition or open the door respectively.
