Automatic transmission and OD

On a 1992 automatic transmission the OD will not engage until the transmission reaches a certain temp. Is there any way to disconnect or override this so it will go into OD at any temp.

There are a few ways to do it actually. one of the more complicated (but awesome) ways is to rig up two switches that go to the control solenoids with a third that by passes the two swithches so your truck drive like a normal auto. the two switches can be flipped to make your truck shift like auto stick. the easyest way to by pass it is to take the sensor out and bring a pot of water to norm op temp and then put the sensor in for a few min and read the resistance between the lead and ground. then get a resistor of that same ohms and put it in place of the sensor on the wiring harness and put the sensor back in jus to plug the hole... make sure you grab the right sensor for the trans, and not the one for the guage cuz not only will it not work, but then you wond know if you ever overheat.

in my own professionall oppinion though i would recomend finding why it is that you cant reach norm op temp and fix the source of the problem rather than jerry rig it.

It's not supposed to shift into OD until the engine warms up.
You could bypass the temp sensor and ECM to "over ride" it.
