Autonomous Off-roading by FORD?

Lame.... what’s the point then? When I drive off-road I’m doing it for the fun and enjoyment of it while also challenging myself. This just sounds like adventure seeking millenials who are too lazy to participate in the journey. Coming from someone who’s 23. Also I’d love to see that system cross some of the swamps on the logging trails in northern mn. If it can do that I’ll believe, until then it’ll never be as capable as my Jeep or 4Runner.

I agree. I drive off-road (just driving period) because I like to drive. I like pushing the limits of my 4runner and myself off-road. I don't want the vehicle to just do it all, or even some of it for me. I bought my TE because I wanted the e-locker, well actually, I wanted the hood scoop too but I really didn't care about the crawl control. We've never used the crawl control once but have used the locker plenty of times. That technology is not for me.

spot on for me. All the technology for making off roading "easier" seems counter productive. My DD is a '14 Ford Raptor - I bought it because I loved how it rode on crappy roads and wanted the bigger 6.2L. The instant the warranty expires, I will sell it though I have had zero issues with it. There is so much "technology" on this thing I don't think it is possible to get it in the correct "offroad mode" ....ever. There must be 16 or so more settings for running this thing off road and I have never used any of them.

...and I am a network engineer who lives "technology"...lol.
