Cricket sound while off gas pedal (rolling in gear). '99 SR5 MT

I recently did fuel pump, and it seems like I started hearing it sometime after that, but not certain. Also had the whole evap can out prior to dropping the tank (when I was troubleshooting the non-start issue and hoping it wasn’t fuel pump haha). I’m 99.9% certain I have all the hoses where they should be.

If you watch my tach in the video (links below, if they work), you can see that the cricket sound happens when I let off the gas (rolling, in gear). So I was thinking it’s related to the fuel return.

(EDIT: (1) it DOES NOT stop when I take the truck out of gear. (2) Only happens while engine is cold. (3) I now have P0441 EVAP System: Incorrect flow.)

Getting ready to drive this thing about 1000 miles next week, so thanks for any input.

The content filtering gear at the Gov site I am at does not trust Reddit. Without hearing the sound, I can't get a good idea, but since I had a similar experience recently - have you checked the tension on your PS pump belt?

Thanks. Have not checked that. But...please correct me if I'm wrong...I don't think a belt related noise would stop when I put it in neutral. ?

EDIT: see OP. does NOT stop when out of gear, only happens when cold engine, I have a P0441.

Wild guess here, sort of. Try lubing the Universal joints, especially the double cardan at the front if you are 4wd.

Thanks. That’s actually something I’ve never done. My 98 I’ve had for 10 years is overdue, this 99’ I’ve had for 1yr is unknown but was well maintained.

Anything special, or just “hit the fittings with the grease gun”? (Will look in FSM, and inspect the joints.)

This. My '02 was making the same crickety noise. Front driveshaft u-joint was dry. Greased with Mobil-1 synthetic red, noise gone.
