Last February i was interested in the Scion tC, after looking at a few dealerships I ended up going to Autoway toyota in Pinellas Park as it was closest to where I live. I didnt expect any problems or surprises with buying the car as Scion has a no hassle, no haggle policy. I was definately wrong. I wanted a black tC with side airbags, after 30 min of "looking for one" the salesman said good news the only one in florida with sideairbags is available. I knew this was BS and later went to the southeast toyota dealers website and found 17 available in less than 5 min looking. We decided to put a deposit on the car, and the salesman said it would be in in a week. We signed all the papers, and my mom who was with me, wrote the check for around 18g and change. 3 weeks later after i called the dealer all the time he finally called me back to say it was in. i went down to pick it up, and after test driving it and everything we start going over paperwork. I notice something doesnt add up. The price that they are charging me is $300 more than the price they told us originally. This is the price we put a downpayment on, and signed a contract on, now they are trying to raise the price on us. Apparently they rose thier prices on thier cars 2 days before, during that time my car was in shipment to the dealer, even tho it was supposed to be in 2 weeks before that. They would not change thier price so i eventually walked out.
There were many more lies that I cought them telling me, and the customer service over all was horrible. When my 4runner needs service I know I will drive an extra 20 min to a different dealership.
All in all it was the worst buying experience I have ever had, my salesman and the manager of the dealership were the stupidest assholes I have ever seen, and now I am glad that I walked out, now I have the 4Runner, a better car.
