Autumn/Winter Tires & Spring/Summer Wheels

Hey folks,

On Saturday my Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos arrived and boy are they nice. I had them installed today and they look great. For those that are familiar with the tire, you know they don't come in 267/65/17 sizes so the ones I've got are 265/70/17s. They fit great and do not rub. Here are some shots.

So, as if I wasn't already thrilled with my new tires, I checked mail to day and my new 20" rims were in! Those baby's got here very quick. Now, my tires should be in before week's end, so I should be able to get them on and run them for about 8 weeks before I'll have to put my 17"s back on for the winter.

Anyway, here is what they look like:

As you can see, I chose not to go with the chrome look. I did however, want a bit of shine to match my head/tail chrome lenses. I think they look great and the charcoal portion of the wheel really compliments the color of my runner.

So, give it to me...what do you think?

brick......your 4runner already has to be one of the most awesome 4th gens i've seen. those rims are only going to make it better!

how much more hieght do the bridgestones give you? i have about 1or 2 more inches of clearance in my garage, and i want winter tires like those.

I can't really explain it but this is the first vehicle I've ever owned that I've put this much into. I've had sedans, a '93 BMW 740i, '00 Grand Cherokee, but never have I been so addicted to adding mods/new equipment.

I hope to have the wheels on by week's end...you know I'll have shots up immediately following. :bouncy:

Nice.....very nice. I can't wait to see them mounted. I think I am more excited than when I was waiting to see your chrome tails. Do they make those with black instead of the charcoal?

Ok, so I've got awesome news and crappy news...so which do I give you first?

The awesome news of course. I got all 4 tires mounted and wheels balanced and let me tell you, they look incredible. Easily better than I hoped for. The tires are extremely sporty and the rims fit the look perfectly. So where are the pics you ask...well, on to the crappy news....



...I couldn't put them on the runner :dammit:. Turns out the lug nuts I received are the wrong size!! :goinposta Those bastards (not really, I'm just a bit annoyed) sent me me gorilla wheel lock lugs (extremely cool and as a free set of $50 lugs, you'd be hard pressed to find better ones) in the size of 12mm x 1.25. Well, ladies and gents (take notes on this) my Limited V8 needs a thread pattern of 1.5 not 1.25. The lugs I have are two small to bolt on. So, the nice folks I ordered them from are supposed to be sending me a set of 12mm x 1.5s immediately.

So, if the lugs get in by week's end I'll have the shots up, if not, let's pray :angel: for early next week.

That sucks man. I think we can all handle waiting. It has got to be hardest for you......especially because you are going to swap them out for the winter. I was only casually considering new rims, but after seeing those, I have the itch. Once mounted, forget about it. I may have to straight copy you. I'm glad I haven't ordered the T&H bars yet, because I may need to divert funds to this endeavor. Thanks for blazin a new path.

In the meantime, can you tempt us with pics of the tire on the wheel?

Dude those rims are uber hotness! Can you at least tease us and take a pic of the rims with the tires on them?

Are you able to use your stock lug nuts in the meantime? Not sure, just wondering. I mean I don't know if they are flat or need to be "acorn" style to fit those rims.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the complete wheel. As for the lugs, nope, the OEM lugs are too big to fit in the mounting holes. I'll just have to wait.

You know... I saw those rims at Tires.com(IIRC), and was so-so about them, but your pics show that they are indeed very nice...

The answer is yes. They also have an all chrome version and have them in 22s as well. I think the black would probably look pretty good with the black tires. Especially on a black runner. Here is a pic of the black from the same tires.com website:
