AUX input trouble-06 non JBL

When I connect my XM RoadyXT using a mini jack to the mini jack port in the center console the radio has a high pitched tone, even when the T4R is not running. Is it normal that I have add a filter to all inputs to the aux port? I had to do this to my DVD player bc of the same issue. Or is something wrong with radio and should I bring it in? If it's something with the radio, how do I test that it is so that the dealer doesn't blame my dvd player or XM radio?

Is this the first time you have used the aux port or was it working ok and now there is a problem?

I'm the second owner and have had the problem since I've owned it.

There is a TSB out for the auxilary jack.

I had the same problem using a Garmin Nuvi GPS plugged into the audio port in the center console. I ordered an inexpensive noise isolator from Crutchfield and it did the trick.

Update: Going in next Wed for the TSB

Called the dealership and they looked up the TSB and booked me in for next Wed for the fix.

Dead thread revial. Hey [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] Thinking about doing this TSB on my own. Do i need to buy all three new components(adapter and the harness?) or do I just need the insulator?

Whoa holy necro post, so I have this issue as well in my 07. I believe it is 3 parts to fix this issue. New aux port, filter, and wiring harness. All parts are required so that the filter is now inline with the OEM wiring, if that makes sense. They basically changed the wiring on the aux port side to include the filter and now new harness so it all plugs back to the car without a fuss. I think the hardest part is swapping out the aux port. The aux port is stupid priced but can be found on eBay.

Thanks I just got a quote and they are wanting over $170 just for the parts. Found this adapter after some reading and thinking I'm going to give this a try first. Maybe from here I may then go bluetooth adapter
