Auxiliary lighting for cargo area

I’d like to add some auxiliary lights to the cargo area and have them operate based on the switch position of the rear dome light. Has anyone done this? I assume you could just tie into the rear dome light? Could someone offer some guidance on how to wire this up to make it work?

Not looking to get crazy here, just a couple of LED puck lights. If someone has a better idea, please share.

Maybe a little less elegant than what you're looking for, but I've been using a couple of these from Home Depot in my cargo area for a long time...super handy.

I've been told that the dome light on Tacomas is switched on the "ground" side of the lamp. If the T4R is wired that way as well, it would affect how you'd need to tap into that circuit.

When we go camping I just stick one each on the innner cargo area. battery powered, motion activated, no fuss no muss.
