Auxillary Audio Connection Question

Purchased a 2011 SR5 4x4 last week and the auxiallry audio levels are not very loud. My 06 4Runner had great sound out of the Aux audio plug. The radio and CD player in the 11 sounds great but when the ipod is plugged in the volume is cut in half even when turned up to the max level. I have tried different cords for my ipod as well and they all get the same low audio levels. I turned of the ASL as well. This is making me wish I had opted for the bluetooth package. Any ideas or solutions?

Maybe check the volume on the ipod and it's eq settings? I have a new ipod nano connected to the usb in the glove box and it sounds great. Do you not have that option?

I agree with SurferRob. Try turning up the volume on your ipod. When it is connected to the usb port the volume can only be turned up or down through the stereo.
