Avic D3 Doesn't Fit Anymore

I have had an Avic D3 for over a year now and I thought it was about time to do the video bypass, so I took apart my dash and removed my radio and changed the mute wire around and grounded it. When I went to put the radio back in, it will no longer fit into the trim. Its like the radio brackets sagged and so the radio isn't high enough to fit in the trim anymore. I don't know if thats what happened or if the wires in the back of the unit are causing it to not be up high enough. I messed around with it for hours today and could not figure it out. I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't figure it out. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great.

My first guess would be that the wires in the back are causing problems, I know the wires from my D3 are pretty bad, I have to stuff that thing in there pretty hard.

take the time and route the wires to the back or to the sides of the unit, i had the same problem b4 wit my pioneer deck and flip out, its because we have alot of wires. take the time and then the magic will work.

I did reroute the wires last night and that got it. I also had to shorten a couple because I had left a lot of extra, but its back together now and looks good and the bypass works great! If you haven't done it and get sick of pressing the "parking brake is not correctly connected" error message and would like to have the option to watch videos with the car moving (I'm not saying that you should watch them while its moving or that I do, but if you would like the option), then I high suggest you do it. Thanks so much for y'all's input.

Hey do you have any pics of the wire that is supposed to be grounded?
I would like to do the bypass on my avic, not sure where the wire is :cheers:

Your brackets bolted to wrong holes. Panasonic has many on its sides.

Teqeeler, follow the links that juiceboxer posted and that'll get you exactly what you need. Take special care when you remove the pin from that wire harness to break the little tab thing. The bypass is great cause once you do it, not only can you watch DVDs on the move, you can actually input addresses into the unit while you are moving, which is amazing.
