avic z120bt to droidx

I recently purchased an avic z120bt. I finally got around to trying to connect my droidx via blue tooth and am having problems. I turn on the bluetooth on the droidx, and then do the search for bluetooth devices, but the avic does not recognize any. Anyone have suggestions? thanks

You turned on the 'make device discoverable' right?

settings > wireless &networks > blue tooth settings
