AVN5435 and iPod and Sirius?

Hey all, newbie here, first post.

Great forum! I've searched and read some good stuff regarding the Eclipse AVN-5435 Nav Unit that came "factory" installed in our new SR5.

That being said, I have a few questions for those of you who have tread the iPod plus Sirius path for this unit already.

1) According to this thread

I might need to/want to upgrade the software/map data to 1.4? Do I HAVE to upgrade for Sirius to work? Either way, can somebody pm me re: the dvd?

2) http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18949&highlight=avn5435 says the Eclipse branded iPod connector might not be the best option? DICE better? Anybody know if I can daisychain the DICE or Eclipse iPod connector through the Sirius tuner? Crutchfield could not answer this question . . . e-mail to Eclipse is my third option after you guys.

3) Did anybody ever get a picture of the roof mount antenna for Sirius? It's supposedly magnetic, where does the wire have to go? I.e. no need to drill a hole in the roof, right?

I want to make sure I purchase the right stuff before I disassemble the brand new truck,

Well, no replies, but I did it anyway.

Got the Eclipse Sirius tuner and iPod connector (IP-106), had it installed at a reputable local shop.

On the preview channel, the unit kept flashing updating on the screen; once Sirius was activated, we continue to see a black window "Aquiring" popping up on a regular interval. Despite this, Sirius works, it's just highly annoying and you can't change channels while "Aquiring" is on the screen.

On top of that, the iPod does not work very well at all; the signal bleeds through the Sirius signal so that both are playing on the stereo at the same time.

Called the installer, said he'd seen it with one other Eclipse model and it's 99% the sirius tuner. Agreed to swap it out with a new one (bought them from Crutchfield so should be an easy swap).

I will report back here with the results.

Oh, and one other thing, the Nav disc for this unit is horribly old and out of date, it wasn't aware of some major highway updates in the last 5-10 years in NC on our recent trip. We traversed land with no roads quite a bit according to the NAV .
