So, Eclipse recommended installer for the AVN5495 has trouble recognizing how to interface system with factory wiring for JBL 7 + subwoofer speaker and diversity antenna system. I don't get AM, FM is shottie, 107.7, 107.3, 88.5, etc. get hammered where with my factory installed JBL system, there was never ever a problem. I go back tomorrow to see if the installer has learned anything and can correct this. Understand a Y cable for the diversity antenna system and speakers is required? Understand the diversity antenna system is on both reare windows? Currently nav system works great. Understand to get the subwoofer back on, need a new amp to handle that? Why not the amp that came with the JBL system located under the front passenger seat what should already be connected with the subwoofer? Any help on all of the ? above would be greatly appreciated. Will let you know what happens. Its near firing time.

I have a 2004 but it should be the same on the 2005. The antenna gets power from the radio. If you go aftermarket, you must power the antenna from a new source.

He is right on with his answer. Do a search for diversity antenna and there should be a couple of threads with more info and photos on this.

OK so, first found answer was make sure both grounds (which ones? Not sure at all) are actually grounded. Diversity or not, it can play havic with both AM and FM. This explains why AM was snuffed and FM was hardly bearable.

Now, guess that leaves why existing factory JBL amp can't drive factory subwoofer vice having to install a whole new amp and subwoofer just because of the after-market AVN5495 or equivalent, if there is such a thing (definitely not Panasonic).
