AVN5500 vs AVN6600

Any suggestion on these two models? Eclipse recently release both. I owned 5435 and will upgrade to 5495 (Hardrive). Should I wait for the 5500 or 6600 release to arrive?

I've been looking for a hard drive navi also and came across a new pioneer one that is coming out soon. Pioneer AVIC Z-1, 7 inch, touchscreen, 30 gig hard drive (10 gigs for music), bluetooth and some other goodies. any idea if it will fit?

The 5500 is out already, in fact I own it. It is basically exactly the same as the 5435. The 6600 gives you dual DVD drives, so you can use the navigation system and have a rear entertainment system going at the same time. It has a couple other extras as well.

Neither the 5500 or the 6600 are hard drive models!

Is there any software/application that enable the AVN5435 for TV Tuner ready. The unit has 1 audio/video input....?

I hooked up a tv tuner to rca input on the AVN5435. The tv tuner had additional RCA inputs, which I wired RCA cables to the center console. I use this for hooking up my mp3 player (Creative Zen Vision) that allows me to displays the songs on the screen of the AVN5435. The whole setup works out pretty well, too bad with the ipods you can't use the video out to display anything besides pictures.

I've heard bad things about the AVN5495. I guess to record songs to the HDD you have to play CD's (not .mp3 CD's or mp3 DVD's either, the .mp3 format isn't recognized) at real time for the recording process. So if you have a couple hundred CD's this process would take forever. Not only that, you have to record the CD start to finish without stopping or the images won't be saved.
