Awesome CB radio deal!

So I picked up a CB radio off of ebay just now. It's the Cobra 18 WX ST II. It's a pretty popular one on this site, and is the one I was looking for. Got it for $12.50. Also, it's located about 1.5 hours from me, and I have a friend who lives there and can pick it up and bring it home with him when he comes back for the holidays, so I don't even have to pay shipping!

If someone could point me in the direction of what else I need to buy to hook this up I would appreciate it. I know I want to get a firestik but is that all I need?

thats a killer price.. where ya going to install it? all you need is the antenna and some coax, or if you go with a magnetic mount antenna they come with the coax.

I plan to install the CB right under the radio, and the antenna on the corner of the rear bumper.

I just did this install a couple weeks back. here is what you will need:

90 degree Coax adapter because you will run into interference issues on the antenna and ducts behind radio without it.

The CB can be installed on top of or under the radio since they are both DIN size. I tried mine on top and it sat close to flush of trim ring, but then my flip face would not work to access CD drive. In the bottom position it was recessed back about a .25 in so I drilled two new holes in the radio bracket and now the CB sits about .50 in in front of trim ring under my radio and all is well.

The Firestick is OK, but you will probably get better performance from a Wilson Magmount.

Thanks but the reason I want a firestik is because IMO it will fit my needs better. I really hate magmount antennas. I think they look stupid on 90% of vehicles. This CB radio will only be used maybe 6 times a year on offroad runs. I'm not looking for the best performance. I'm looking to put together a nice, inexpensive CB set up that will suit my needs and still allow me to park in the garage.

Just wanted to follow up on this. In the past week I've aquired the following from Amazon.com: Firestik II 4' antenna, firestik heavy duty antenna spring, firestik mini-mount kit including 18ft of fire-flex coaxial and a firestik swivel door jamb mount. Total plus shipping was just under $72. I used a $50 Amazon gift card that my work gave me for Christmas so I have a little less than $35 of my own hard-earned money in this project. Thanks to all that helped point me in the right direction.
