axel off a bit. damage to diff?

I noticed that my axel is off a bit from the differential. the first picture is mine, the second is a buddy's for comparison. does this matter?

it may be a case of T4R member hyper-sensitivity but it seems like there's some additional drivetrain noise from that corner (DF) at around 63 MPH.

I probably caused this extra space when I rebuilt my axel a while back. Pretty sure I got it back in there as far as it would go.

thats the seal.
the axle looks to be in the same distance. but the seal on the first pic isnt seated all the way.
if its not leaking i wouldnt worry too much about it.

good point, nevada. no leaks. still... i wonder what that noise is coming from...
