Axel Seal?

Hey I just noticed that there seems to be some gear oil on my drivers rear tire. I have a 95 sr5 and have not tore into it yet, There is no noise coming from it but I was wondering if it is a seal or a bearing that could be leaking.

Is this a big job replacing? I will probably remove the wheel tomorrow cause it supposed to be warm.

The inner seal is simple to replace, toyotas are notorious for leaky seals. usually its a sign of the bearing going out but if you think its ok then just do the seal, should only take bout an hour. If you do replace the bearing and outer seal it must be done at a machine shop because it has to be pressed in and out. if you remove the brake shoes and cylinder yourself they usually knock off a few bucks

Inner seal is most common. Fairly simple, but it'll take more than an hour.
You have to disconnect the brake line, which means you have to bleed the brakes when you're done. That's an hour there.

Cool thanks alot, I just put the plates back on my mazda and it gets about 3X's the mileage So this will be perfect, I can tear into it and learn a few things, and with the gas I am saving I will be able to start building up the truck for the spring get it ready for them "not all weather roads" Thanks guys.
