Axle Wrap

So this is what ends up happening when you have axle wrap, know it, and don't fix it.

My friends tracker/samurai hybrid during a trail ride last weekend.

Had to unbolt the drivetrain and tow him home. Even then it was sketchy doing that. Would still go in 4x4 though. Needless to say he will be fixing it right this time.

Axle wrap will usually snap the springs. To me it looks like the spring perches just sheared off of the axle housing allowing it to rotate within the u-bolts.

Do you have any better daylight pics? It looks like good carnage either way!

Yeah I think that is exactly what happened. Guess it could have been a lot worse for him. He towed it the rest of the way home the next day and then immediately went to taking it apart. Don't think he took any other pics but I can check.
