Az Meet: Broken Arrow, Smiley Rock or Whatever

Anyone Arizona folks want to meet up and run a trail sometime the week of December 21st.

I'll be back in Arizona visiting my family for a week over Christmas and just wondering if anyone wanted to meet up and run a trail.

Run information:
Trail: Broken Arrow
When: December 21st
Meeting Time: 900 am, shouldn't be to many issues with the pink jeeps at this time
Meeting Location: Broken Arrow trailhead

The run shouldn't take too long we'll be done probable around 11 depending on how much time we spend dinking around on the trail. I'll try to get some action shots or videos of everyone since it trip reports seem a little dead lately.

I might be up for one of those. My Runner is completely stock at this point and I'm not sure it could handle Smiley Rock. How bad is Oak Creek Homestead? I'm actually going to try and get out to Broken Arrow tomorrow to see if the stock system can handle it... (if I can get my honey do list taken care of today...).

I ran them all in my old 96 4runner which was pretty much stock and didn't have any issues. Only had slightly larger tires (265/75 vs 265/70) and sliders. Just try to pick a good line.

Im down for pretty much anything as long as it is on a sunday or monday. My runner is pretty much stock as well just larger tires for now. Looking for more az people to to go out with and more mid level off road trails to run. Check out my Post Turkey day run thread. Getting members together for a day run meet and great with a mid day lunch.

There's a very good chance I'm in for this. I've not done any of those trails (only done 1 trail for that matter). I'm in Prescott, so it isn't a far shot for me.

Sunday the 21st or possibly the 28th will be the only days I'll have available. Definitely do want to get up there and try the Arrow if possible.

Well since I live in Sedona and my days off are Sunday and Monday that is a big YES for me I am in. I have not done Broken Arrow yet. Since it is a Sunday we will be competing with the Pink Jeep tours but it will be nice to have some Toyota's on the red dirt.

Anyway specific that people want to meet? If there is not that many of us we can meet at the trail head.

Not to worried about the pink jeeps. I've run it a couple of times and I haven't had a problem with them.

Meeting at the trailhead sounds good. Does anyone who is looking to go have a CB?

I have a handheld that works "ok" from inside the cab. I really gotta get something with a permanent antenna mounted outside. Put me down as a tentative to attend. I should be able to break away in the morning.

I've done a pink jeep tour before, is this the same trail? Can I find this by looking it up on google maps? I do not have a CB or any fancy GPS map (other than my phone). I've got a 2" lift, some good tires, and that's about it, that good enough?

About how long is this run? Thinking of bringing my wife and 2 year old.

You'll be coming up from Prescott, right? If so, once you get into Sedona on 89A, hang a right at 179 and follow that south till you hit Morgan Rd. Turn left (through the traffic circle) onto Morgan Rd and follow it until it ends. That's the trail entrance. I'm not sure if its needed but I would suggest getting a Red Rock Pass.

Coconino National Forest - Recreation

If you don't plan on stopping then technically, you don't need one. It's 5 bucks and probably better safe than a ticket if you stop too long.
