AZ Newbie Checking In!

Hello everyone! Newbie from southern AZ. Just found this site, and am new to the 4runner world, but not to traversing the wilderness and going off road. I'm making a big switch from the turbo charged Subaru world, to the lifted yota world. I sold my 2005 WRX today, and picked up this 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4. For being a lifted vehicle with knoby tires, the ride was surprisingly smooth and enjoyable. I had about a 100 mile drive down the freeway getting home.

I'll be using it to haul my fishing kayak around to places I couldn't get to before in the car. It's sitting on a Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift with 33.5" x 10.5" BFG MT KM2 tires.

My previous ride. I loved the car, and will miss it. The AWD turbo charged power of this was ridiculously fun to drive, but I am very excited to get back into a taller vehicle.

Hello and welcome, TB! Good lookin' Runner--you're starting out well. Shame about the WRX--those are pretty sweet cars, BUT they can't take you where your new rig can. Be sure to check out the 3rd Gen section for tips specific to your ride. Enjoy!

Thanks :). I actually just voted for your runner in the t4rotm poll before I saw this =-p.

I loved the WRX, but I think a nice reliable naturally aspirated vehicle will be awesome for now!

Thanks so much for the vote! It still has a lot to be done to it yet, but most of the really important things are in place. Yours looks great, and already has some good mods on it. Have fun building and wheeling her!
