baby seat & passenger space in 4Run

Not sure if this is an accessory, but:

I wondered prior to purchase how car seats would fit with the runner.

I purchased a "graco quattro tour" travel system with my wife. It has stroller and car seat and car base. The car seat is larger then I expected.

Good news: everything fits fine. I can have the car seat in the center position, and still fit 2 adults in the back seat. I can also have the front seats all the way back (just for testing).

The child "LATCH" system is excellent. It is very easy to install the base. We purchased 2 bases for our 2 vehicles, but changeover is so easy we probably could have gotten away with 1.

This is one thing very important in my SUV: baby seat + 2 adults in the back seat. (I'm 6ft) The passenger seat is all the way back on its track.

I wish the runner had more rear seat toe space under the front seat, but I doubt I'll ever sit back there.

I can fit a Britax Marathon Rear Facing in all positions. I also managed to fit the Marathon Forward facing with two infant Gracos in the second row without touching the doors. (yes i am expecting twins)

The good news is when the baby gets a little older you can upgrade to a Mclaren stroller which take up WAY less space.

I've got a 20 month old and I use a Britax Roundabout and have not problems with fitting two adult passengers on either side.

Isn't being a dad the BEST........

Congrats on twins!

The Maclaren products look excellent. For now, this stuff will have to do.

Yeah, being a dad is a life-changer. I really never knew the significance of a birthday until last week.

Hope I can still find time for a mod or two. I want the fog light mod for safety, and the diff breather for a fast running creek I cross.
