I just got a set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires in 265/70/17 to replace my stock (and barely used) Bridgestone Dueler HT tires.

Now she doesn't look anything like a soccer mom's SUV. And I love the easy 1 inch lift!

BTW I believe you only gained a half inch of clearance if I'm not mistaken.....

Looks very nice IMO !! Def, changes the appearance.

I've alway's run BFG on all my trucks and they are the best IMO. On my 4R I tried the Revo's and they do ride a little nicer because of the load range , but I would trade them in a heartbeat for BFG's.

Your welcome man. Originally I wanted to find a way to have the original diameter not effected. I was going to get some 16 inch wheel with some 265-70-16 bfgs but your pic's convinced me to stay with the 17's and extra half inch of clearance.
I can deal with a 1mph speedo differance at 40 and a 2 mph speedo differance at 80ish. Thanks for sharing the pics. Now I can see what my black runner will look like with the bfg's.
I loved them on my explore and even on it it really set it off from the rest of the explorers around not to mention did great out in the sticks and snow.

Did you swap out the spare also?

Defenately interesting to hear from someone that has run both.

I myself have never tried the revos but I am turned off on them becuse they aren't a LT tire and are not branded with the snowflake on the mountain symbol.

I loved my BFG AT/KO's on my explorer. They never let me down. They got me though some serious snows way up in the dirt backroads/ logging trails of the rocky mountains as well out in the BLM land. I can't wait to put them on the 4runner!

Here's the terrain just off the driveway/ dirt road from the house at about 8k feet. when it snows the road dissapears and you don't know your off of it untill your vehicle sinks off the edge. I actually rely on a path by my gps to stay on the road when it gets real bad.

The elk and deer are cool. The occasional cow (free roaming cattle) that is standind in the road and will not move is not though.

You can see why I want a tire that meets the severe snow requirement.

BFG is a great choice and I say go for it. The only benefit I could see by the Revo is the wet road traction from what I hear , never had any heavy rain to try them. In the snow everyone said how great they are which I think I would classify them as good . My BFG's were just as good if not better and I think if the snow get's real deep like it would be off road you way better off w/BFG.

The ride and handling of the Revo is excellent and also they are quiet. It's a good combo on / off road tire with leaning tword light off roading in my opinion.

The one other thing that has nothing to do with performance is the squared off shoulder look of the BFG and the white letter's are 2nd to none.

I'm not knocking Revo's at all , it's a great tire and work's well , but I won't buy another set simply because I trust the BFg line much more since they have been on all my truck's since 1985.

I don't have a runner - my brother does and he points me here so often I feel like I do. I've got a 2001 Pathfinder with 120k miles. I've used Tire Rack surveys to evaluated tires for years. I used them to eval and pick up a set of Pirelli's and then Yoko G051. The survey is about as correct as possible.

If you look at the survey on All Terrain truck tires, the Revo's kick the BFG's butt. No offense, but this survey includes like 70 Million miles of people's experience. I realize of course that each size will handle slightly different but..

I wish tire rack would test and compare top selling AT tires. Even if it was just On Road.

Off Road performance is great. But for my daily driver, I would like to see dry and wet braking distances.

Yeah the reviews of the Revos are better than the BFGs, but the BFGs still look MUCH better IMO. Sometimes you take form over function, sometimes you don't so we'll leave it up to the buyer.

A big problem for the revos to me is they do not have the mountain with the snowflake symbol/ meet the standard for severe snow? Since I spend several monthes out of the year at elavations 7k ft and up. It is something to consider when buying tires for your 4x4.

I enjoy not having to stop to put on chains and when the chain laws are in effect. The revo's claim they are so good in snow but if I'm not mistaken, the Revo's fail to get a traction rating of 110 in standardized testing while the BFG AT/KOs do.

The more aggressive look with the bfg's is just icing on the cake.

I don't think the Revo's are bad at all and personally I would'nt worry about a snow flake. thing , it's kind of a marketing thing. I really don't know but the BFG has a tread depth that seem's twice as deep as the Revo ( at least in my eye's)

I just don't see a big difference between the 2 tire's so far except the Revo is much better riding and handlind on road. I guess with my years of running BFG I've never had so much as even a flat. Being old school I'm not subject to change I guess. I don't have any regret's really about the Revo because they also have never let me down......but I've only logged 2500 miles so far with 3 mild off road trip's and they have functioned well in those situations with snow on the ground.

I think you just need to get what youy like and what your used to . One other thing that did sway me to the Revo was on the BFg it seem's after the wearing down the did ride pretty crappy and I did want to get away from that,hopefully with the Revo.

I did'nt nean to open a can of worms here, both are good tire's and you probably can't go wrong with either since are both proven performers.

Sorry to hi jack this thread and steel away the thunder of the new shoe's on the black 4R. BFG's look the best but like said it's all about form or function.

One last note was my friend had BFG AT on his f250 crew cab 4x4 and after the wore out he went to the Revo and he love's them, I also have been seeing alot more truck's around here with Revo's on than prev. but probably because I'm keyed into them.

Which one's are you talking about BFg or Revo's ?
