Back door won't open!

Rear door (hatch) won't open!

Hi there!

I just purchased a 2000 4runner SR5 like 2 days ago and there some little things that need to be fixed
I just realized that my rear door wont open!
I tried every single way to open but it just wont work, it just kinda clicks weird when i try to pull the handle.
I have the manual how to disassemble the door but its has to be open in order to remove the back door trim..

any suggestions?

It's easier to take the rear panel off with the door open, but it doesn't have to be open. It's a pain in the ass, but it's the only way.

it's possible to get to the hatch "guts" w/o opening the tailgate-pain in the butt though but not after reading this....

This is gonna sound stupid but, recently it snowed here in virginia and I decided to take my 2 wheel drive runner out. It was performing very well so we decided to have some fun and I went up a steep hill but the truck came right back down and got stuck. My friends car was also there and we decided to PUSH it with the car. So we pushed against the back door with his car and we managed to get it high enough where I could turn and pull it out BUT, now my rear door wont open. Its jammed shut, anyone have any clue on how I can fix this?? what did I do to the internals that it ended up like that?? Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated it...and yes I know I know Ima idiot lol!
