Greetings, greetings ...
I'm the proud new owner of an '00 SR5, so I naturally went looking for the right forum to get caught up. Voila.
This is my 1st 4Runner, but my 2nd Toy; I had a 1972 FJ40 previously ... 33s, lifted, roll cage, quasi-tubbed, chopped & welded doors ... canary yellow. Great fun, but alas ... two little kids, and if it was nice enough to go out in a convertible w/o the kids, then it was nice enough to take two wheels. Which brings me to my usual mode of transportation - I have a pair of Ducatis in the garage, which is what I usually ride.
A '97 Monster m750 which is now a track-ready cafe racer, and an '88 Paso 750.
So ... prior to picking up the 4Runner, I usually only put about 2k miles on my vehicles. But I haven't been as psyched as I have over a vehicle in I don't know how long, so I'll probably have more miles on four wheels this year than I have in a long time.
About it: I'm still figuring out exactly what I've got, to be honest. The previous owner put a lot of money into it, but here's what I've figured out so far:
And a truly over the top stereo that will do me exactly jack **** on a trail, so that is on the chopping block to get downsized. The rubber is a little excessive for my tastes as well ... the tires are 315/75R16s, and I don't think I want something that wide, especially in the central NY winters. So they might get replaced w/ slightly skinnier BFGs at some point. Plus I wouldn't mind having a full sized spare (currently lacking).
It's got high miles (coming on 200k), but I've got a pretty good service history for the past ~5 years. Recent timing belt & water pump service (whew) and all sorts of other stuff. The body/chassis is in fantastic shape. But it's still mostly an unknown ... so, what do I have to worry about? Same with the care & feeding of 35" meats ... what have I got to look forward to?
Oh yeah, quick, about me: long time guitarist, web designer/developer by day, daddy/hubby all the time (2 kids, 7 & 4, one of each), great big dog, huge motorcyclist, I like hoppy beers, old bourbons and almost anything that goes vroom.
Anyway, looking forward to perusing the forums & hope to meet some of you on a trail one of these days.

- Old Man Emu coil-over lift (4"?)
- 35" Nitto sneakers on 16" Cepek rims (love the edit LOL)
- 4.88 gears (what's stock?)
- Factory skid plate(?)
- AEM BruteForce intake
- Aftermarket exhaust ... TBD
