Back of front seat removal

Does anybody have the service manual that shows how to remove the back of the front seats? I want to see how much of a headache it's going to be installing headrest tvs.

If you look under the "Sticky" for mods,write-ups ect you will see "
Seat Heater Install" http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/80123-seat-heater-install.html and you have to take the back off for that first. Also the entire factory repair manual is over there under"TIS FSM" by Nashman........who is "The Man"

exactly, the wire can be snaked down the seat without removing the seat backs. If using aftermarket headrests they usuall have the wires run through the posts if not you just notch the plastic retainer and viola.... so I comprehend quite well thanks and my question still stands... why?

Snaked through where?Have you actually did this on a 4Runner seat or just talking out your arse again.:flipoff: Go take your headrest off and show me pics of where you snake the wires down through and how you would get them to come out the bottom. The headrest holes in the seat are not open on the bottom and way too tight of a fit to include wires anyways.

hint....,. the seat covers have upholstery zippers on the outside edge and anybody would be a fool to try to fish them through instead of unzipping them,running the wires and then rezipping them back up.
You just need to undo the elastic bands up underneath holding the lower back flaps down so you can access the zipper ends.

nope not in the new gen but in my 97 along with many other vehicles.... so yes it can be done no problem, but if they have zippers than by all means that would be easier. A lot of cars have panels that just pop out as well.

Does seat need to come out to replace

My 2005 SR5 drivers seat is worn out at the lumbar support.

The repair would be only to the seat upper.

The seats are cloth, and there appear to be zippers on either side of the seat back.


Does the driver's seat need to come out to remove and replace the driver's seat upper?
