Backup Camera for 2003 Limited?

Has anyone succesfully added an eclipse to a 2003 with factory navigation? I have read many threads and someone has asked..but the question was never really answered. What is my factory nav head unit called? It is a solara? I do have the cutout on my rear hatch to mounth the camera, so I wasnt sure if my nav unit had the direct plug and play in it also. Any help from anyone who has done this would be great.

I am in the same boat. I would REALLY like to know if there is a easy way to add a backup camera to a 2003 4runner limited. I would also really want to know of a cheap way to get video to display on the nav unit. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I added the BEC 105 about 6 months ago. I took out the nav unit and ran the wire behind the glovebox, up the passenger side door and to the back. I would say it took me a couple hours to get it all done. Pictures is ok, but not great. Not like the new Nav units. It was plug and play however and I like and use mine daily.

lol i installed the bec106 last weekend.what a pain in the ass it was. ran the wire in the stock location via the rubber hose in the tailgate hinge ( that took an hour alone) then ran to driver side rear pillar mirror, tucked it into the headliner and down the rear passenger door trim, and driver door trim , then finally under steering wheel and into headunit. i have to say plug and play makes it all worthwhile with all the cuts on my fingers

it took me MAYBE an hour TOPS. the hardest part is getting the wire from in the tailgate past the window. I didnt have any trouble with the rubber tube, or tucking behind the plastic panels in the interior. I absolutely love it, really helps hitching up the boat.

Do you know if you could use a normal camera and just fiqure out what whats the video and video sheild are on the plug in???
