Yeah, this has been posted elsewhere here. The GX does share the same platform as the 4R (not the Sequoia) but it sounds like this particular issue has been isolated to the GX only.

From what I have read, it appears to be related to the threshold of the VSC system. I saw a video of the issue, and it looks like the VSC is not taking over quickly enough.

The scenario is that at high-speed and in a cornering maneuver, the throttle is dropped which causes the vehicle to begin to drift or spin. Before the VSC took control, the GX had become completely sideways and drifting off-line. Where this would be a significant issue is if the slide would cause leaving the roadway or striking curbing.

Seems to me that this is a software issue that could be resolved quickly. My experiences with my 07 Limited is that the VSC comes into play very quickly and decisively. Mr T must have made a change.

This guy must not drive trucks often. my truck does that on command. this isn't only with the GX all trucks behave like that as most of the weight is in the front.

No, actually. The LandCruiser Prado, GX460, and 5th gen 4Runner are all built off the same platform. But if you read the articles about it, you'll see that Consumer Reports tested the 4Runner and did not find the same problem.

Toyota will solve this, most likely with a change the ESC.

Consumer Reports tested dozens of SUVs and only the GX handled this badly. There is a real safety problem here. Toyota will get it fixed in short order.

The handling problem arises if the driver of a Lexus GX 460 S.U.V. eases off the gas pedal while driving quickly through a sharp turn. That causes the rear end of the vehicle to slide toward the outside of the turn, a condition known as trailing throttle or lift-throttle oversteer.

On dozens of other S.U.V.’s tested by the magazine, the electronic stability control system of the vehicles detected and quickly stopped the slide. But the stability control did not stop the GX 460 until it was almost sideways, Mr. Champion said.
