Bad Bluetooth quality on Alpine???

Hey there - I just installed an Alpine CDA-9857 in the 'Runner. First, let me just say that compared to the stock system I think that Toyota should be reprimanded...the Alpine pushing a set of cheap Infinity speakers ROCKS!!!. But to the point...I added the iPod control (works SUPERnice!) and the Bluetooth. I'm curious though about the Bluetooth module...my better half tells me I sound like doo-doo and she can barely hear me on the new system (the audio on my end sounds awesome). Has anyone else had this problem? My mic is mounted at the rear left corner of the moonroof/sunglass console...can't get it much closer to my head without eating it!!!any thoughts??? Suggestions???

I have a different head unit than you (IVA-W200 -- the double-DIN unit) but a very similar setup.

Off topic for a quick second - how great is the iPod connection?! LOVE IT!

Back on topic --> I added both the Sirius tuner (for satellite radio) and the Bluetooth module. I've since come to find out that you cannot have both hooked up to the headunit (the Sirius tuner's pass-through apparently won't let the Bluetooth signal through). I was hopeful that there would either be an update to the Tuner or a newer model, but that's yet to happen.

I've been reading a lot of reviews about the Bluetooth module since I'm trying to figure out what to do with mine. Pretty much every review I've read has said the EXACT same things as you. Excellent sound quality on your end, TERRIBLE on the other end. Getting the mic closer doesn't help at all either. So I don't think it's an issue with your particular kit.

I'm thinking about either trying to sell mine or scrap it all together and purchase an aftermarket unit like the kit from Parrot. Far from my ideal situation but at least it will work properly.
