Bad day for my 4runner....

Did that semi (Swift Transport) wreck too, in the very first picture? I can't see the cab...

Standing up, your rig doesn't look so bad.. What's the worst damage besides the body panels? Is the frame good?

Yeah, that semi wrecked too. There was actually another semi on the other side of the road not pictured that wrecked in the same area as well. Those guys were being idiots that day, seriously pissing me off on the road. I was getting passed by semi's, not surprised there were so many that slid off the road because they were driving like complete idiots.

The frame looks fine. The only thing stopping me from driving it is the roof is smashed in, and all the glass needs replaced. I think the roof is beyond repair though...

What if you found another 4Runner and swapped the body? Then you could keep the frame/engine together...

I was thinking of getting a set of those Falkens, I might reconsider now. Do you think they played any role in the loss of traction?

You could chop the roof, I bet it would be the only 4Runner that's lifted and a chopped roof.

I've thought about this a lot. It's what I would prefer to do, but I'd have to find a temporary ride to get me through the winter since that type of project seems it would take some time to do. I've done engine swaps before, but never have I taken an entire body from a vehicle and put it on the frame of another.

The Falkens played no role in the loss of traction. I think just about any tire I could've had on the vehicle, the same thing would've probably happened. The roads were icy, and the wind was what caused the initial slip.

This was actually my dad's idea. I was thinking if I were to get another 4runner, I would definitely turn this one into a chopped trail rig. My dad said all I need to do is take it to a fab shop. He's seen it done before.

I didn't necessarily mean chop the entire roof off but that'd be cool too. I meant like on old Chevy and Ford trucks they lower the roof by chopping out the pillars.
