Bad MAF at 37k?

Has anyone ever have this problem? A few months ago my truck had this problem and my dad had to shell out $300 to have it replaced. We were getting onto the highway and accelerating, and once we hit 60mph the truck threw a CEL. We took it to the dealer and they said we had a faulty MAF sensor. Also, they said that it wasnt covered under warranty? WTF?

The common cause for this problem is aftermarket filters (K&N, Amsoil, etc.). To much oil applied to the filter will evantually cover the MAF, or to little oil will allow fine dust to pass through causing a dirty/faulty MAF. Pull off your airfilter and check for dust in the airtake. That would be a good indicator. If this is not the case, it just plain stinks!
