Bad Noises With A/C On

I have a 1993 4Runner V6 4wd 5 speed. A/C worked great last summer and was ice cold. This summer the A/C was not very cold and started making bad noises by the end of the summer.

The noise only happens when the A/C switch is on and the noise also varies with the RPMs of the engine.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

If the noises are from under the hood I would check or have checked the AC compressor clutch. It may just be your compressor clutch relay.

Could be the compressor clutch, but the compressor may be self destructing.

I don't know if it is worth it to have it fixed. I just don't want to go next summer without A/C.

Is there way to check if the A/C compressor or compessor clutch is causing the problem?
