BAD U-JOINTS = Leaking DIFF (Help-B4 Job)

Ok long story short...

I'm having my drive shaft ujoints replaced, cuz they obviously went bad.

And im guessing that's what caused my Diff seal to go out.

(im sure its the seal "Stamp" between the diff covers that are held together by all those bolts)

cuz it's dripping right from the bottom.

I'm planning on pulling it apart and using RTV for a reseal.

But I was told to "WAIT" until I replace my U-Joints and put my DS back on.. then just make sure all the bolts on the Diff are TIght cuz that could just be it.

Should I do that?

Or do the job regardless (340K on my runner :p) and use red or blue lock tite when putting the assembly back together?

I'm sure this job would cost alot at the shop since u have to remove the axles.

I'm starting Friday, any help/advice before then would be great. Thanks

Why don't you just check the torque on the diff nuts now.

Then if it keeps leaking, pull the diff and replace the gasket.

Make sure it is not the pinion seal. While you have it apart might as well re-seal the pinion. You should also replace the axle seals & orings.
