I've got a 95, 3.0 that I cannot seem to keep from overheating. I have replaced the water pump, cap, thermostat, had the radiator cleaned and checked for leaks, and made sure that all my connections were tight. What I'm seeing now is metallic specs in the collant. I also heard some "clanking" that came from what sounded like the fan area yesterday, like possibly something in the pump may have broken. any suggestions out their would be helpful.

are you having trouble keeping the radiator full? if so:
check the oil for a milk shake color. is there white smoke with a sweet smell coming from the exhaust?
if you have these problems it's most likely the head gasket. it's just a common problem with the V6, so I thought I'd share.

No, i already took care of that. about 4 months ago what started out as a possible blown head gasket ended up with getting the engine rebuilt. the head gasket was actually okay, but the head was warped and causing the loss in coolant and all the white smoke. while they had the heads off, the mechanic called me to come and look at the cylinders, and it was obvious the motor was burning some oil so i ended up just having the whole thing rebuilt.
I think that we're just going to pull the water pump back off and replace it. it has a lifetime warranty, i just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced anything else like that.

That sound was probably the water pump. Especially if there are metal flakes present. The water pump is the only actual moving part of a coolant system (other than the thermostat, heh). I'd go ahead and have it replaced, especially if it's under warranty.
When all else fails, trial and error. There are only so many things that can go wrong, and you've pretty much eliminated all of the options in this equation.
