I know some guys prefer to debadge their Runners, but I think my new additions add a nice touch. Those around me on the road can see and hear that my Runner is a V8.

Re: Badges

With my V8, iForce badge and loud Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust, I will not get good parking spots and instead get a few questionable looks. Oh well, my Runner makes me happy.

I also thought about the Hybrid badge, especially since I get about 14 mpg. The Iforce V8 badge is cool but its not an iforce v8. I agree with letting people know you have a v8 though!

i had a badge on the rear gate that said 4.7 for about 2 weeks but took it off as im waiting fot my new badge to come from ebay!!

and im not following the hybrid badge gets you better parking spots????? sorry haha

Some places have "hybrid parking only" signs, usually next to the handicapped spots. It's to encourage people to go green or some other such nonsense.

Why isn't the 8 iforce? I'm pretty sure I have to remove a piece of plastic that says iforce every time I clean my throttle body.

Re: iForce V8

The 4.7 V8 in my rig and many others is an iForce. I have copied specs from the 2003 reviews below:

Alternatively, 4Runner now offers a 4.7-liter i-Force V8 engine on all models. The powerful V8 produces 235 horsepower at 4,800 RPM and 320 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,400 RPM. 16/20 mpg for all 2WD models and 15/19 for all 4WD grades is not as good as the other engine but this one has nearly 40lb-ft more peak torque.

With my Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust system and TRD Air Filter, my numbers are bumped up a little bit to 255hp and 340lbs tg.

yea i got the iforce too but i could have sworn that the iforce put out around 280 and the vvti v8 put out 235???

Really? I apologize then my mistake. I knew the 03-05 was a different V8 but I didn't realize it was an iforce. I do like the emblem for sure! You should get the hybrid emblem on the other side!

iForce is just a name for Toyota's truck line V8s. The current 5.7, 4.6 and the old 4.7 are all iForce V8s. Similar to how Ford calls their truck engines Tritons.

The numbers for the 4th gen V8:
4.7 without VVT-i: 235hp@4800rpm / 320ft-lb torque@3400rpm (2003-04)
4.7 with VVT-i (as listed in MY2005 literature): 270hp@5400rpm / 330ft-lb torque@3400rpm*
4.7 with VVT-i (under 2006 SAE J1349 ratings): 260hp@5400rpm / 306ft-lb torque@3400rpm*

*These two engines are exactly the SAME. It's just how the numbers are archeived and measured is different. The 2006-09 are no slower or weaker than the 2005.
