Baja 4000: January 2019

This seems like a really cool event. I had originally found out about it right before the first one in 2017 and it was a bit too late to get organized and go. But this time I'm planning ahead. Last time there was some interest in this crew so want to see if there's enough interest to get another rig or two to come along for the adventure!

What yall think?

Baja 4000 ? Bamako Adventures

The Baja 4000 will ride along dry salt flats, sand dunes, rocky dirt roads, sandy patches, cracked asphalt, silt beds and hard beach roads.

Spend nights in mystical canyons near hot springs. Bump along desert beach tracks and cut through cactus forests.

Experience off-road driving one of the most incredible eco-systems in the world.

The rally is held every two years. The 2nd edition of the event will start from Hollywood on January 25, 2019.

Detailed route plans will be announced in the April 2018.

Gnarly...I just drove from SD to Guerrero Negro 2 weekends ago. The whales were amazing. But for a long weekend trip, too much driving (15 hours to get back w/ the border crossing). Told myself next time I go down that far to make it a long trip. Down to cabo and back in a week via dirt...crazy

Looks like Baja is only at Level 2 dangers right now. Should this be a concern on this type of trip. I'd feel much safer if I could bring rifles with me :ak472: but that's not happening.

always be careful and there's always some additional risk when traveling in a foreign country, but i wouldn't be too concerned with level 2.

Got my trusty father as the navigator and I'll be rolling with my 2018 4Runner w/Icon Stage 5 and other equipment yet to be purchased or determined..
