Baja California

Has anyone taken their 4th generation 4R all the way down to the southern most point of baja? I'd like to know are there any cool off-roading places, what are the road conditions, and are there enough gas stations along the way? Also, is it safe with all the corrupt federales everywhere?

Looking to take a surfing/off-roading adventure in mid-Feb.

This is something I was thinking of too.

I have seen some guided tours (offroading) but have not heard of anyone doing it by themselves (driving down there from LA) although I am sure some guys do.

My better half flatly refused to drive down. She says the oulaws would be to dangerous. She visits Guadalajara monthly and says its bad enough in the city, let alone driving in the middle of no-where.

Still the surf is a big draw card and the trip would be awesome.
