Baja Designs "pods" & wiring question

I have 2 cutouts on my expedition-one rear bumper and some baja designs lights pods to place in there and wire to my sPOD. My question is with wiring....

The wiring on the pods is 18g, all I have laying around is 14g. I'm going to need to extend the wiring from the back of the car to the front where the sPOD is. Is it safe to jump from 18g @ the light pods to 14g wired to the sPOD?

I know it's not safe to use a smaller gauge wire than the lights need, but wasn't sure if it was okay to "jump" to a larger gauge.

Yes. As long as the conductor is appropriately insulated, and you can ensure that you are creating a good connection, having a larger size wire feeding a smaller size is completely acceptable, in fact it will actually help prevent any [unlikely] issues with voltage drop.
