Baja Rack Ladder for 5th Gen

Hi Guys, I did a little bit of search (still trying to figure out the google search) regarding the availability of a ladder for the baja rack for my 5th gen but ended up short. Does anyone knows if it's available or any other option that may fit. I bought the long rack and should be arriving next week. I will greatly appreciate your comments!!!! :rockon:

Only ladder I know of is the GOBI one. Just don't know about the clearance on it with the Baja Rack when the tail gate is open. I am sure somebody has a mixed set up that will chime in.

No bajarack ladder that I know of. I use a gobi ladder with a bajarack. The ladder touches the rack slightly before the liftgate is full-open.

Resurrecting this thread because I am curious about the clearance with the Gobi ladder. Can anyone specify where and when the ladder comes in contact with the rack? How severe is it?

Any info is appreciated.

I have baja flat and gobi ladder. Initial fitting resulted in pretty significant contact. I loosened up the rack and tried to move it fwd but it was maxed out. It then took a fair amount of cutting and grinding with a cut off disk to get clearance. I basically took the top portion of the ladder bracket all the way down to the weld as far as i could w/o compromising the strength. I had a moving blanket catching all the metal sparks. I started working carefully, but to give you an idea how many rounds of metal cutting and trial i had, eventally i was impatient and the blanket eventually was smoldering and started on fire. Even with the protection, and a wash there was a lot of metal particles that stayed on the roof and got rusty. I had to clay the roof and then protect with touchless car pro hydro 2. Which works great when you cant really reach the surface.

Go ahead and buy 1" skateboard tape too. The ladder rungs and top area need it.

No ladder instalation pics on this ipad but here is a shot that shows the rack and ladder. (I was holding up a shady boy awning to test fitment)

I think there is a Baja Rack ladder now, I saw it on a build thread in Expo. Although I didn't like the way it's mounted to the bottom of the tailgate, the Gobi is a much cleaner design.

As much as I would like one of the Gobi ladders I weigh 250+ and they're not rated that high. I use a Smittybilt Beavertail receiver attachment to allow my 6' to access the rear area of the rack, and I stand on the rear tires for access to the sides. I have looked at one of those "over the tire" step arrangements for side access but I haven't found one I can try yet. I'm not trying to convince you not to get a ladder. Just pointing out some other options.

Weathertech also makes a rear bump step that goes in the receiver.

Evidently they have several products in production that they don't have on their website. How you run a business these days that way is a good question. Honestly, after having products custom made by them, buying off the website products and hidden products from them I would say that I am slightly less than enthused with them as a company in both their customer support and manufacturing/design. If I knew then what I know now I probably would have picked a different manufacturer.

They are subcontracting the ladder to this company, not sure why (Epoxy I guess IDK): CCM Assembly

Apparently the ladder will be on the web site in October

All of my parts shipped from CCM, not just the ladder. I think I remember reading on the FJ forums that the same guy owns both companies or something like that. Both companies have the same address on their websites.
