Baja Rack vs. Gobi Stealth Rack

Does it curve down in the middle or is it just me?

Just fitted my Gobi roof rack today. Very impressed with the build quality. It was also prewired for lights front and back. Looks great and made in the US. Not sure how the Baja rack could be any better. Can someone explain?

Can you post some pics?

Gobi

I have been happy with the Gobi, it is well made (USA) and looks nice.
It's flat too, so a little higher in the front.

I have taken a couple of trips (30 hr HW/ similar time off-road). No issues.

You can hear some wind noise, but I expected that.

Light Tabs front (4) and back (2) are nice.

There are already a lot of pics out there, and here are some more:

How was it prewired for lights? I am looking to get a rack and was going to get the Baja because of price. But if the Gobi is prewired as you say, i might steer that way (and because I like it better). I might be willing to pay the extra mulla with the tax return.

It has wires pulled inside the rack (front&back), you still have to build a harness and connect everything, but should be a little cleaner looking and protect the wires a little more. I don't think 'pre-wired' is enough to offset price difference (what is the price of the new design?). I think Baja offers a light harness for some of their racks.

How high up do you think the side rails will be on the low profile model? do you think it will be comparable height to the gobi stealth?

anything new on either of these new bajaracks? thanks.

Supposedly next week for the flat utility ones to be released as they were having the brackets made up last week.

No idea on the low profile one with sides. You were asking before about the height of the sides and I'd say probably the same as the FJ one . How high did you want the sides? Now would be a good time to give your input to them as the design is probably not even finalized yet.E-mail Sergio at Bajarack.

Anyone think Sergio @ Baja Rack would do a group buy on the flat ones?

I need that bad boy by spring to carry some kayaks

I emailed about getting a full length low-profile rack and got the following reply yesterday. I am between the flat rack and the low-profile full-length. Any guess on shipping these monsters to the East Coast?
