Baja Rack vs. Gobi Stealth Rack

I just ordered my bajarack. Went with the traditional full length basket style. Jacque from trdparts4u and Jesus from bajarack were awesome to deal with. For those in socal I was able to arrange to pick mine up from bajarack themselves and save myself the frieght charge. Can't wait!

Well the flat rack is what's on my 4runner in my sig, its just from the sunroof back. The other one would go in front of the sunroof all the way back. I would almost guess $100 +/- $25 for shipping.

If you need it soon, the one from the sunroof back is readily available, I think. A few of us are waiting for the "very low profile" rack as its still in progress. I'm sure the Extended basket rack is also still in development.

Let me know when you pick it up as I work right up the street, assuming it's during working hours of course. I can either stop by and help you install it or just say "Hey''.

Thanks, I think I am good with waiting until the one from the sunroof all the way back is out. I am going to wait until March anyways, I am feeling guilty about all the $$$ I spent on camping gear in the last month!

Most definitely bro, I'd appreciate the hand/welcome. I'll let you know, I was told it was going to be a 3 week turn around so somewhere in the 1st/2nd week of march.
 
I like the Gobi. Thinking about purchasing that one.

I like the traditional basket type but with low sides. The Baja Rack sides are a bit big for my taste. Wish Baja Rack would make a basket type with low sides like Gobi.

The new flat one from Baja Rack looks cool but I would be scared of objects like a box or a container to slide off. Having a side I think you can secure a load more easily IMO.

I just got an email from them telling me it would be about 4-5 weeks before it was ready...
 
Been in contact with Baja Racks about a flat rack in a slightly wider option. I have a Columbus Variant RTT that needs support over the full width. I'm really hoping they'll be able to build me a 57" wide completely flat rack. Need my tent and Fiamma awning mounted up before camping season kicks off.

Any chance we can get a GOBI group buy going? Saw that there was one in the FJCRuiser forum...
 
Picked up my bajarack yesterday afternoon at thier shop and slapped in on that day when I got home. Didnt expect it to be ready so soon. Anyways sorry I wasnt able to hit you up idrivat4r it was kinda all of a sudden. Pics to follow after I get a good wash!
 
SOO this might sound real dumb but I want to get a Gobi Rack and I don't know where to buy it... I can't just off the site??? and I'm guessing it will fit a 2011 also... Thanks
 
Just ordered a full-length low profile (5-inch side) bajarack today. Decided to go with a 1/2 mesh floor on the rear 1/2 of the rack. I should get it early April! John@bajarack was great to work with.
 
A question for owners of both Baja and Gobi...

What is the clearance between the rack and the roof? Is there enough room to hand wash and wax without loosening/removing the racks?

They did the supposed final final test fit yesterday on Nathan's truck and had engineers with them . Kudos to Nathan as he has alot of patience as this was like the 5th or 6th test fit! His truck should be the first one to have one on and I thought it would be yesterday!

Sergio and Bajarack are just trying to make sure it's right before releasing them. They are also real busy as new racks were released for Land Rovers a little while back and selling like hot cakes

Most racks don't have much clearance to wash underneath very good.
