Baja Rack vs. Gobi Stealth Rack

I asked them when I ordered my rack, and they said it is in the pipe, but probably several months out since they're so busy with other projects.

On Tuesday as Harper mentioned I went back for another test fit. Their main issue right now is the rear mounts are not inline with the rack mounting holes. They had an engineer there that took a bunch of measurements and checked out everything for himself, so hopefully it should just be another week or two.
I'm really not sure if this is the only Utility Low Profile rack currently in the works or if they have a few built already just waiting for this mount issue to be resolved.

Gobi / Baja Racks, sharkfin clearance
Looking at pictures of both racks online, it seems they are both built around the sharkfin antenna, rather than over it. For those that own one or the other, what are the potential clearance issues between items in the rack and the antenna? Thanks.

I ordered the full-length BajaRack this afternoon without mesh. The mesh seemed very appealing, but the prototype picture John sent me didn't inspire confidence in the way they had the mesh reinforced because it looked a bit warped. Granted, it's a prototype, and I deal with prototypes for a living so I understand the implications, but I felt better about the sturdiness of the tubular design. Either way I'm excited to get it! I'm just waiting to hear back from them on an anticipated ship date.

Where are you all even seeing the full-length rack to order?and what are the prices? I don't see it on the website yet.

The prototype for the flat one is the one on Nathan's truck I believe.

I had to call and give all my info over the phone. I'd been checking-in with John every couple of weeks to see if they were ready, and in our last email exchange he told me to call-up and order so I could get in the queue since they're so back-ordered on stuff. So, I did that yesterday and spoke to a woman on the phone (don't remember who), and even she didn't have the right price (she quoted me 650, but John quoted me 850 for tubular and 950 for mesh!), so I don't think they've sold many so far. I'm still waiting to hear back from them on a timeline and to let me know they've charged my card... hopefully today at some point.

John sent this to me as the "unofficial" prototype picture of an unfinished piece, so please take it for what it's worth. My concerns rest only in the eventual "sagging" of the mesh between the tubular pieces from me banging stuff around up there. The mesh itself doesn't seem to be reinforced underneath in a lot of places (i.e. the mesh is "instead of" not "on top of" more tubular pieces). It could be discoloration or light playing tricks on my eyes, but the mesh in the prototype doesn't seem to be exceptionally flat and that's the only bit that worried me. Couple that with the mesh not having as many tie-down points as I'm expecting to need and that moved me to choose the tubular design.

Here is a pic to show the bars under the mesh just so there is a visual to what limamike explained.
Looks great! That view definitely makes me feel better about the reinforcement and thickness of the mesh. I wouldn't have a problem buying it, but I am glad I went with the tubular design because I need more tie-down points than what the mesh affords. Can't wait to get mine!

Prototype is completed. Those with orders in I imagine should have them by the end of the month. I would contact John or Sergio for a more accurate lead time.
It looks a lot better once its powdercoated black vs. bare steel. I drove on the freeway yesterday and this morning and I cannot hear any added wind noise from having this rack up on top. Its amazing that my 4Runner looks clean in these pics, it's very dirty, I have yet to wash it since the Vegas trip.
