Baja squadron amber pro's.....any advice

i have the Pros for ditch lights and the Sports for fogs in my bumper. i get flashed all the time for the fogs and all have the amber rock cover. Pros are too bright for the road
pro is too bright for the road. They are easily 2x as bright as my HID headlights and have a worse beam pattern
i only use mine for offroad anyways so its fine

I really Luv my squadron pros! I run them as fogs and run s2 pros on my ditchs. Haven't mounted my onyx light bars yet but will be replacing my rigids to bajas. As for the road I dim them with my sPod unit. A lot of my friends use switch pros instead and dim them for the streets. Sports will do the job but for ubber offroad lighting experience pros are awesome at night trailing. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Way too bright for regular road use. Granted I will admittedly run them sometimes at sunset if the sun is setting behind me and I'm in an area people like to pull out from because they're too ignorant to wear sunglasses. Saves me from an accident.
I remember the first week I ran them, I had them on at early dusk and was immediately flashed by the first car. Hell, had them on yesterday approaching sunset (not officially sunset) and someone flashed me.
During the day they aren't THAT bright, but I suppose someone with sensitive eyes to light it could bother them. Night time they wouldn't be able to see, that's for sure.
Just to give you an idea here's a short video I made about a month ago to show how bright they were for a friend:

I agree with this assessment. The Pros are way to bright for street. I tried it with the amber lens as fog lights. You can tell you're shining into people's eyes. I returned them and got the Sport version. I aimed them lower, toward the ground. The still light up the road, but without blinding people.
I would be interested in knowing how you dim your Squadrons. Given, my knowledge of electrical things is limited. However, I thought LEDs could not be dimmed. They would flicker if you reduced the voltage. Is that not the case with Squadrons?

The Squadron Pros are too bright for street use, as others have pointed out. The Squadron Sports are borderline although one of the Baja Designs guys runs his Sports all the time.
There is a dimmer available for these lights, but it's designed for motorcycle applications (which is how I know about it). It's made by Skene Designs and Baja Designs sells them for motorcycles. I have no clue whether the Skene dimmer could be used in an automotive setting. I have emailed my friend who works there and will let y'all know what he says.

That's what I was going to dive into this summer. I run a set of squadron pro's on my KTM with the dimmer switch. Would love to set something like that up for the runner. On-Road (50%)/Off-Road (Vampire slayer)

Exactly. I had Squadron Pros on my 950 Adventure. They were at 50% for "normal" use (which was fine even at night), but would go to OMG THE SUN IS ON FIRE when I turned on the high beams. Pretty cool shit.

Exactly! My buddy and I ummmm...took the long way home on a camping trip down in Arkansas. Stock lights were HORRIBLE. We both made the switch to the Squadron Pro after that one and yes...as a ginger I'm afraid of walking in front of the bike without sunscreen :laugh:
I bought the Squadron R Pro driving combo in amber for my fog lamp replacement and love them. I use the on road all the time as ditch lights. I treat them like high beams. When I meet oncoming traffic, I turn them off.
Heck, they can't get too bright for me. My only downside is that I missed out on the Black Friday deal.
