Reviving this old thread since I've been researching the standard size Baja Rack for my 2000 T4R and I'm seeing a bunch of recent posts about the 5th Gen guys getting roof damage from improperly sized feet/brackets for the factory rack channels. Have any of you 3rd gen guys seen this problem?

personally i don't understand the group's fascination with roof racks. roof rack plus lights = terrible gas mileage and what little aerodynamics the 4Runner had to begin with will be out the window.

Convenience of putting stuff on roof is #1.
