Bajarack ladder pic, finally

yeah $220+ tax is going to be too much imo, just think of all of the other things $250 in parts can do for your truck, for now and at that price i'll continue to just stand on the tires and rear bumper.....
get back to $150 plus shipping and i'm in

and if they did it right production cost should always come down from a prototype, well if you know what your doing in the manufacturing field,
after you make a jig which you should pretty much always spend the extra few hours doing it's just cost materials and coating really as any monkey can tack them together very quickly with a good jig.

there is rumor though that steel prices may be going up about a third here soon as well, but so far my steel prices on the west coast haven't changed much in the last 6 months or so.

get back to $150 plus shipping and i'm in, i'm not paying $250 to have a limited edition step stool , lol (saying that just because they are doing a limited run doesn't make the value of the ladder go up to me personally)

also don't get me wrong i love that we have a good working relationship with the people and they do have a quality product. if i did not already own a rack i would not hesitate to buy theirs becuase of their quality of work and their willingness to work with us. it's just the I,ME personally can't justify paying that much for what little convenience it would give me.

so thanks Baja Co. you guys rock, and this is just how i personally feel about it.
 
I got my ladder on Monday, had a bracket/bolt break on my so I am waiting on the new one to get here, big shout out to Jesus @ BajaRack with his great customer service, anyone else get one of these that they made? If so get some pictures up and when I get mine on I will post some pictures of it and my rack which are both new!!

i have never seen a price on something jump around so much. I personally do not want one but to start at 100.00 to 250.00 and back to 200.00 sounds a lil willy nilly to me.
 
If anyone's interested in a ladder whose price doesn't jump around and ready for delivery now let me know :bigok:

No offense but the Gobi ladder has nicer contours and lines- but at full price would likely cost a bit more.

Glad the Original Poster got a great deal to tempt the rest of us however. Not a bad way to stimulate sales frenzy eh guys?

You guys want a less obvious somewhat custom touch? I helped the nice folks at Redline Tuning find a Michigan 3rd gen Runner to test out the QuickLift hood struts. I always hated that stupid prop rod...And some folks figured out how to find struts on their own to accomplish the same task.

I agree with you guys on the pricing, it seems ridiculous that they moved it around so much. I will say that at first I was not in love with the shape of the ladder, but after actually using it MANY times to get up to my rack I am extremely happy with it. It's beyond sturdy, still gives you a very clear view from your rearview mirror, and the finish is fantastic. Thats why I oredered the light bar from them which should be here next week, I have no problem spending a little bit with a company producing such fine gear.

They're $200-$220. They can account for a small flux in price because they have independent vendors who sell a portion of their inventory..they'll fidget with the price to sway customers (i.e. $200 plus shipping on some vs. $219.95 free shipping). It was the Jaos ladder that got me interested in the idea 3 years ago, and that was with me being conscious of its $500 price tag. No offense to OP but design and finish wise I believe Gobi trumps both Baja and Jaos...maybe that's a little biased cause it flows so well with the rack, but doing it all over again I would have still gone with the Gobi...and thanks Ron, yes I do have a brand new one for sale! :bigok:
 
ya id have to agree with miller on Gobi having the better look... I wish the one u were selling was a drivers mount, miller, bc i will have enough extra cash for one by the end of this month.
 
Im really looking into getting a baja rack. I have a few questions:
- Does it hold 2 lightweight people?
- Does it come without a ladder?
- Can I fit surfboards on the rack?
 
Does the ladder mount the same way the gobi one does? Some adhesive on the top plate and sortof a pinch bolt thing on the bottom with another adhered plate?
