BajaRnnr's 06 4Runner

Well i have been lurking on this site for a month now. I have a black 06 2wd SR5 4Runner that is in the process of transforming into a prerunner like Rory (bala de plata). I have done little mods including 2.0 Saw's in the front, window tint, tailpipe relocation and tip, and emergency lights. There is much more to come (look at sig) so check back from time to time.

Your suspension looks great! My height adjustable kit looks very cheap.
Hope they have it for 3gen 4R too...

Your dogs are pot hound?

Are you a cop? If some idiot cut me off... I'd totally start flashing those lights...haha.

Yes i am a cop and i have pulled people over and cited them before. I have made 3 arrests because reckless drivers had no clue that the black 4runner behind them had red and blue lights and a cop in it.:bash:

Sway away does offer the coilovers for 3rd gen. Check out www.wheelersoffroad.com they ship internationally. Ask for Jason if you call wheelers.:biggrin2:

I love it, rides so much better on and off road and it soaks up the bumps. I went with the 2.0's over the 2.5's because i will be up grading my suspension, so these are just temps till i get there.

Yeah i would swap out that Bilstien setup i've always thought that it doesn't look safe.

Other coilover options you can choose from are Donahoe's www.donahoe.com and also king's www.kingshocks.com

How do you like those Yokohama M/T's? what size are they?

I will be in the area of santiago peak today.
I was up the main divide on Sat. I didn't go all the way since I was just checking to see if the gate from the 74 was open. It was open so I'll be heading up there probably this coming weekend to keep the front diff lubed.

Thank you for using your personal time on the job. So many times I wish LE was right there to see some of the things I see people do on the road.

Digging your mods.

Thanks for the compliments. Ran a traffic stop on the graded dirt road that has the 15 MPH speed limit that leads to Holy Jim trail from the parking lot to the trail. Stopped and cited a teenager for driving recklessly approx 45MPH on the graded dirt road. Kid almost hit me head on coming around a turn.

That's the worst stretch to be speeding since it's pretty much all foot traffic past the parking lot. At least the parking lot from where the HJT, and Trabuco split if that's what you meant. Good Job!

I've seen a couple of accidents on the straight away coming from Live oak before the little model airplane area. They go flying through there and lose control when breaking for oncoming traffic. Hope they never pave that road.

Haven't been to Holy Jim in a while. That place has gotten real busy these past few years with bikers and hikers. Trabuco Canyon is pretty nice. Less hikers, but less riparian too. Haven't gone way back there though.

Well i plan to go long travel after the warranty is up, but that won't be for a while. I went with the 2.0's because i plan to replace them with a set of coilovers with external resi's. I needed the upper mount to be able to do this. Also the 2.0's were cheaper and i only had enough to buy them with the insurance money i got from an accident. Once i do the spindles i will probably upgrade to 2.5 coilovers with external resi's.

Donahoe looks nice too because of black color!
Upgrading to 2.5's kit means basic lift will be 2.5 inch and more?
My TRD is 1' lift coil and lifted more with coilover kit because front nose was really lower than rear.
BTW, what is external resi's?

I do love Yokohama M/T. Size is 265/75 R16.
you can see more pic here
My impression compareing BFG M/T is less road noise, softer than BFG and good grip like A/T.
I don't feel like wearing M/T on road.
but I think this is not long life tires as BFG M/T because its soft.

2.0 and 2.5 is the difference in piston size in the shocks. Sway away coilovers and Donahoe coilovers can be adjusted from 0 to 3 inches of lift.

The king coilover in this pic is what i refer to as a coilover with an external resivour(whatever the correct spelling is)

I have to look into those lights , I was just going to get some strobes put in .

The lights i have are restricted to law enforcement and fire/ EMT only. Same goes for strobe lights, halogen flashing lights, and LED flashing lights, or anything related to Law Enforcment and Fire/ EMT lighting.

Nice setup Baja. If I didn't have XREAS, I'd probably do the same thing to mine.

OT: Those lights may be restricted, but people will still put them on just for sh*t n giggles. I think it was a year ago or so, there was some sh*thead going around pulling innocent people over with a front mount red light (like the CA CHP has). The people would then get robbed after they were pulled over. The robber even dressed in uniform if I remember correctly.
