I looked into getting one of those because I think it would look awesome behind the rear seats. But I'm glad I didn't, because 200-250w just wouldn't be enough bass for the big cavity of a 4runner. I think those are made for trucks with smaller cabins - much like the original Basslink (200w) and Basslink II (250w), which are made for smaller cars where the install space is limited and the wattage would be plenty for the small area.

A Basslink T won't blow anyone away in a 4Runner. I've heard the I and II and know what they can do, the T is no different. I bet that it would be sufficient enough to add bass to a system running off your head unit, tb06sport, but not for a good amp'd system. Soooo, for your application, it might work, but if you ever upgrade your system with some decent amps, you'll have to upgrade that Basslink.

Sorry if I misled you, but I do think the Basslink T would work for you "right now". It's just been my experience that people constantly upgrade until they are reasonably satisfied with their system vs. the time/money they are willing to spend over time.
Here are some questions that will help you decide:
You budget - is it $300? I think that's what the BLT costs.
What type of music do you listen to?
Is there any chance you could amp your 4 channels in the future?
Do you/would you ever fold the back seats down and use the whole bed area for cargo?
FYI: I have (2) 8" passive Bazooka tubes pushed by an 800w Soundstream amp (under the driver's seat) and I love it. It perfectly compliments the 90w/channel that I have for all my mid/tweets.
I have had a few Bazookas in my time and I love them. I chose the 8" because they have faster response and better sound quality than 10's - I listen to mostly rock/metal. And also (better yet), they both fit perfectly side-by-side under the double decker cargo shelf - so they don't take up much room and are completely hidden. You can get a 200w 8" or 250w 10" powered tube, but you also have ALOT more wires to move around if you plan on using the cargo space. Since my amp is under my seat, I can easily move those two tubes (and only 2 wires) around when I drop the shelf, drop the seats and use the cargo area.
I thought the Basslink T would look great behind the seats, but I chose the tubes instead because: 1) I didn't want something that big for only 1 speaker, 2) didn't want to move around the box and all the wires, and 3) be limited to only 250w of power.
I personally think the powerwedge and stealthox are both waaay overpriced.
Just food for thought.

I listen to a variety of everything but mostly rap and alternative. I like the idea of the 8" bazookas under the shelf in the back. What model are you referring to bc I see a bunch that are self powered? Whats a good price for the speakers?
Last, I saw your soundstream amp - 800W seems really high - is this going to drown out my mids from my stock speakers? What other amp would you recommend?

THIS is what I bought. DVC = Dual Voice Coil, allows it to handle more watts. I picked up the RS series because I was told the BT series is the same, just newer and more aesthetically pleasing. (I don't care, I saved a buttload of cash on the older model and love it).
www.hifisoundconnection.com is a good place for audio equipment. I'm sure some other people in here have their favorite places too. BUT, if you're looking for a reputable brand amp, go ebay, since it's likely that you'll get a good product and not have to use the manufacturer's warranty coverage (which usually is voided if you buy on ebay).

I have the basslink I and I am happy with the purchase. It does not take away too much space in the back and the response time is excellent.
It does not blow away everyone on the block, but believe it or not, I'm not turn my gain all the way up on the thing.
I also have a four channel amp providing 70 watts each to components.
Like most people, I do not only want to hear bass.

mit_peid - where do you have your basslink installed? Any clever places to put it so its out of the way, not that visible, etc?
I have narrowed it down to 5 choices - and still not sure which way to go.
1) basslink t hooked on back of rear seat
2) basslink II installed in the back somewhere
3) 2 bazooka tubes under the cargo deck
4) Putting a self powered alpine under the front seats (any other good flat subs that would fit under a seat?)
4) getting a custom sub box made with 2 8in subs to fit under the cargo deck
Any help narrowing down would be appreciated. I like the install of the alpine the most since it would be totally out of site.

I have my Basslink situated right behind the rear passenger-side seat. On the seat itself I have my Kenwood amp mounted to the back of the seat and the Infinity sub right behind that. I think it looks pretty clean; the Basslink design itself is comparable compact.
I am extremely happy with my setup. The only annoying part is really the wiring of the speaker/RCA/power/ground wires. But now that I have it installed, the original Basslink is sufficient for about 95% of my music needs. Honestly, there are about 5% of the time when I feel the bass isn't hitting hard enough. It is very tight (meaning the response time is pretty much instantaneous), but it is missing a little punch when you're listening to some rap songs.
Knowing what I know now, I would have probably made the same choice and gotten the Basslink.
