Battery good, acts dead

I went to start it and used the start button but I had it in gear. Not sure what happened but now it's acting dead. Something blew and not sure what. The battery's good, power locks don't work. lights are dim. Any ideas? or just where to begin! thanks!

Sounds like you lost a ground connection.........from the battery to the chassis.

Check your fuses. There's a main box under the hood on the driver's side and a small box down and to the left of the steering wheel, under the dash

ok, started messing around pulling fuses and relays under the hood. Went to try to turn it over and it started clicking around the fuse box area. I pulled the positive lead off the terminal and kinda cleaned it and reconnected it. Lights came on, had power like it should, went to crank it, it clicked and lost power again.

Grab some hefty low grit sandpaper and clean up your grounds to bare metal, what you are cleaning up is the gay little wire going from the battery to the side of the chassis.
If this doesn't fix your problem, you must have a melted wire somewhere in your harness.. good luck

Don't kind of clean your positive post and cable :bigok: really clean them good then put some dielectric grease on the post and then make sure you tighten the cable on the post. I would almost bet that is where your problem is.

Wow thanks guys. Problem solved. Scuffed up my ground on the frame and battery and it fired right up. Must have been just a coincidence it happened right as I tried to turn it over in gear. Guess I was thinking too much into it. Thank again! :cheers:
