Battery not charging

Gauge cluster lit up light a Christmas tree, radio went in and out, turn signals didn't work, but car kept running. Eventually wouldn't start unless jumped. New alternator (rebuilt denso) and battery. No change.

Battery voltage measures the same at the battery as it does at the alternator. Guessing it has something to do with the 3 small wires going to the alternator. Alternator no turning on. Checked/swapped various possibly related fuses with no results.

2006 V8.

Help appreciated.

I'll add that I did rewire the 7 pin connector on my trailer before the weekend. Seemed to work ok. Could improperly wiring the trailer connector, on the trailer side, have an effect?

It was the IGN1 fuse in the cabin. Took a new battery and alternator to determine this. Finally went back and checked fuses with a voltmeter and found a bad one I miseed from just looking at them.

Moral of the story, check the easy stuff first. And then a second time.
